In The Zone Camps

In the Zone is conducting 14 basketball camps over 10 weeks this summer: 3 position specific camps, 3 shooting camps, 4 offensive skills camp, 2 Court IQ/scrimmage camp and two youth skills camp.

Camp Philosophy:
These camps are designed to teach more than what is done at the typical school camp.  We believe in detailed instruction on both fundamentals and more advanced moves.  We break things down, step by step, focusing on proper footwork, correct body position and efficient technique.  When we scrimmage, we mainly do controlled small side scrimmaging, 1 v 1, 2 v 2 and 3 v 3; this results in more touches per player and a more fundamentally centric half court game.   It's our experience that as soon as we go 5 on 5 full court, all the days hard work goes out the window and it's run and gun time.

Shooting Camps;
Mon-Fri, June 13-17 and July 18-22; 9:00-12:00
Previous campers have seen an average increase of 16% in foul shooting percentage!!!   2500 shots in one week. Learn how to become a pure shooter including drills, games and tracking your shooting.  Camp is appropriate for those desiring to develop or improve their shot. grades 4-12, $95.

*Ball Handling and Finishing Camps;
Mon-Fri, June 13-17 and July 18-22 12:30-3:30;
Since this camp was such a huge hit in 2015, we're doing it 2 times this year.  Not just dribbling but learning how to put moves together to attack the basket.  Lots of Ball Handling Drills (2 ball, tennis ball, medicine balls, hurdles ++), Killer Crossovers, combination moves and finishing with 16 different lay-ups.  grades 5-12, $95
*Offensive Skills and Scoring Camps;
Mon-Fri, June 20-24 and July 25-29, 9:00-3:00
This camps combines a little from every other camp: Shooting, passing, ball handling, post moves, 1 v 1, 2 v 2 and 3 v 3.  If you can only attend one camp this summer, this is the one.  Cost $180.
*Court IQ and Scrimmage Camps;
Mon-Fri, June 27-July 1 and August 1-5, 9:00-3:00.
Everyone's favorite camp is being offered twice this summer--lots of fun and lots of game type experience.  Learn a skill, practice the skill, then use the skill in a controlled scrimmage.  Individual moves then a 1 on 1 competition, reads off the pick and roll then a 2 on 2 scrimmage, coming off screens then 3 on 3, building up to 5 on 5.  Scrimmages are designed to reinforce the day's skills. grades 5-12, $180

*Point Guard Camp;
Tues-Fri, July 5-8;  9:00-3:00 (4 day camp)

For guards and small forwards: Learn to be the floor general; focus on ball handling, passing, offensive moves off the dribble, shooting, reading defenses, scoring off screens and much more. Grades 5-12, $150
*Post Player Camps;
Mon-Fri, July 11-15, and August 8-12;
For Power Forwards and Centers:  How to play in the paint, offensive moves, drop steps, Shaq spins, duck ins, rebounding, offensive rebounding, passing from post, posting up, sweeps and more, grades 5-12, $95

*Shooting, Finishing and Ball Handling Camp;
Mon-Fri, August 15-19; 9:00-3:00
This camp combines the best parts of the Shooting camp and the Ball Handling and Finishing Camps. Attack the basket and put the ball in the hoop. grades 5-12, $180.

Youth Skills Camp;
Mon-Fri, July 11-15 and Aug 8-12, 9:00-12:00;
Learning the fundamentals of basketball and having fun!!  Short instruction period on dribbling then Dribble tag; Defensive positioning then shark and minnows.  Good solid basketball instruction and good solid fun. grades 1-5, $95.

All camps are co-ed.

*These camps are  considered advanced camps.  Athletes should have a basic working knowledge of the game and appropriate skill set. ITZ 2016 AAU players get 40% discount.
